Welcome to Day 62 of The Glory Team Bible Reading plan and we are beginning the book of Joshua. In Chapters 15-17, details the division of the Promised Land among the tribes of Judah, Ephraim, and Manasseh. These chapters showcase God's faithfulness in fulfilling His promises while also revealing the responsibilities of His people in possessing what He has given them. The narratives highlight Caleb’s bold faith, the struggles of the tribes in fully claiming their inheritance, and God's continued presence in guiding His people. Through victories, challenges, and requests for more land, these chapters reflect God's justice, provision, and the necessity of faith-driven action.
In Joshua Chapter 15 records the allotment of land given to the tribe of Judah. This chapter emphasizes Judah’s vast and diverse territory, extending from the southern desert regions to the western coastline. A key highlight is Caleb’s request and conquest of Hebron, demonstrating his unwavering faith in God’s promise. Caleb’s daughter, Achsah, also plays a role in claiming blessings, showing how faith extends to the next generation. The chapter concludes with a detailed description of Judah’s cities, showing God’s meticulous fulfillment of His promises.

In Joshua Chapter 16 details the land given to the tribes of Ephraim and half of Manasseh. The chapter highlights the blessing of Joseph’s descendants, ensuring they receive their rightful inheritance. However, it also exposes a recurring theme—Israel’s failure to completely drive out the Canaanites. Despite receiving God’s promises, the people allow remnants of the enemy to dwell among them, leading to future struggles. This chapter teaches the importance of complete obedience in fulfilling God’s commands.

In Joshua Chapter 17 continues with the inheritance of the rest of Manasseh, including the daughters of Zelophehad, who receive their promised land due to God’s justice. The chapter also recounts the complaints of the people of Joseph, who feel their land is insufficient. Joshua challenges them to clear the forests and conquer the land they have been given. This passage reminds us that blessings often require effort, courage, and trust in God’s strength.
